North Wales Marriage Index
North Wales Marriages - Search Service from an index
Thank you for visiting my GENfair stand. I hope I can find the marriage you are searching for but please take a little time to read what is, and what is not, contained in the Index.
COST OF A SEARCH - The basic cost of a search in the Index is GBP 7.00 for every marriage you are looking for. If the search reveals more than one marriage fitting the description you gave, you will receive no more than 25 entries for every GBP 7.00 paid. Please note that the fee charged is for the search service not just the result. If no marriage is found to match the details you supply, we will report this to you, but NO REFUND will be payable.
AREA COVERED - The area known as North Wales which is made up of the six old counties of Anglesey, Caernarfonshire, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Merionethshire and Montgomeryshire form the main part of the Index. Because the east of this area shares a common boundary with the English counties of Cheshire and Shropshire, this Index also contains marriages from mainly border parishes in those counties.
SOURCE OF THE DATA - The Index has been compiled from marriages recorded in the Parish registers available at local Record Offices. Various transcripts have been used to augment the Index where parish registers have not survived or are incomplete.
information contained - for each marriage, the index contains the name of the parish and/or church where it took place; the year; the full names of the bride and groom as recorded in the register. from the start of civil registration in 1837, the index also contains the names of the groom's father and the bride's father as given in the register. no other information is contained in the index.
