About Us
The Society was inaugurated on 23rd January 1945. The headquarters of the Society since 1994 has been at the Heritage Centre (the former town Fire Station). This building houses the Society's library, archive and a significant collection of local memorabilia.
The aims of the Society are
* To advance the education of and stimulate public interest in the history and archaeology of Wotton-under-Edge and adjoining parishes.
* To encourage the preservation of records and artefacts of all kinds pertaining to Wotton-under-Edge and adjoining parishes.
