Bradford Family History Society
The city of Bradford grew from a market town and became a world famous Yorkshire textile manufacturing centre from the mid-19th century. It was also noted for the extraction and working of coal, iron and stone, and was served by a transport infrastructure of canal, railway and road. Within this area are townships and hamlets, such as:-

Further assistance with research can be obtained from a limited search service (for members only). The Society has produced several local publications, details of which can be obtained through the quarterly journal “Bod-Kin”, in which a listing of newly submitted members’ own family history interests can be found, and from the Society’s website at www.bradfordfhs.org.uk. This provides details of publications and how to obtain them online, information about the Society’s programme of talks, plus how to join this friendly Society. The website also has a members’ only section for entering family history interests and communicating with other members.
Our NEW website is coming soon! Due to the preparation and changeover we apologise that our website and the name search facility for our publications may not be available.
