Over the years the Doncaster & District Family History Society has transcribed extant records and published a number of booklets and pamphlets relating to the poor and law of the Archdeaconry of Doncaster. These have now been combined to produce the CD 'The Poor and The Law'.
The booklets detail all the surviving settlement certificates held by, or known to, Doncaster Archives. There are 693 certificates, ranging in date from 1692 to 1846. Details from each certificate have been listed in 6 columns showing name, old township, new township, details of any family, date and a general notes column. Transcribed and indexed by Pamela Lindley (D&DFHS, 2000).
