Hertfordshire Marriage Links 1538-1837

Description

The Allen Marriage Index 1538-1837, available on line at the Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies (HALS), includes only marriages that took place in Hertfordshire. This database contains marriages, banns and licences outside the county where one or both were Hertfordshire people, including a few instances of forbidden banns. Additionally are included marriage licences where a Hertfordshire church is chosen when neither party was from Hertfordshire; this may indicate a family connection.
