Description

Quarter Sessions were Court proceedings held four times a year, presided over by a panel of Justices. In this period they dealt with not just law and order but also many administrative tasks that were later carried out by Local Government bodies. This searchable database provides a unique index compiled by the Hertfordshire Family History Society from sources at Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies (HALS) and contains almost 47,000 entries.
