Ormerods History of Cheshire

Description

George Ormerods monumental work The History of the County Palatine and City of Chester was first published in 1819, and it still remains the most complete historical survey of the county to date. The second edition (1882) was substantially revised and enlarged by Thomas Helsby, and extends to around 2,500 pages contained in three enormous volumes. As well as giving detailled histories of all the parishes and townships in the county, there are numerous pedigree charts for prominent Cheshire families, many of which stretch back for centuries. This CD-ROM publication of the complete 1882 edition is a joint effort by the FHS of Cheshire and the Cheshire Local History Association. It is published in Adobe Acrobat format (viewer supplied), and should be readable on most machines using Windows 95/98, 2000 or NT 4.0, or Power Macs using Apple System Software 7.1.2 or later. 1 disk
