This book shows that many of them came from the western Palatinate (Pfalz) now in Rheinland-Pfalz. John Willrich, who descends from one of those musicians, includes in his story many details of why the musicians took up this way of life and how they trained for it. Much is translated, with permission, from the publications of the Musicians Museum at Burg Lichtenberg in Thallichtenberg, in the Pfalz. 40 pages (A5) with many illustrations , index, and a map of the area.
