Hertfordshire Old Poor Law Records - on CD-ROM

Description

The Elizabethan Old Poor Law covers the period from 1602 until the Poor Law Reform Act of 1834. This extract includes all the Settlement, Removal and Examination records available at Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies. Few records have survived before the 18th century. The records are fully searchable using a catalogue index and are presented in PDF format. Using the facilities of Adobe Reader, items may be copied, pasted or printed out as desired. There are also a number of additional files to enhance and explain the content of the records. This CD is a replacement for the HertsFHS Old Poor Law books, volumes SP3, 4 and 5. Note: Linux systems will not read the catalogue file as included here. Also available on a USB stick.
