CS081 Coroners Records Salisbury City Vol 1 1876-1892

Description

A4 softback 74 pages

This surviving set of Salisbury coroners' inquisitions commenced in 1876 with a break until they recommenced in 1888 and then continued mainly with full inquests for each year until 1974. However, all inquests into suspicious, sudden or unexplained deaths come under a 75 year closure ruling which applies to coroners' records and therefore this ruling has to be adhered to so far as the transcription of these inquests are concerned.

There are some "treasure trove' inquests dating from c.1930 which only incur a fifteen year closure date. These inquests will be included in later volume in this collection but will only contain relevant details such as names, dates, sites of discovery and, of course, the actual treasure itself.
